BIOGRAPHY

Kaleidoscope Sky is a reggae rock/jam band from Salamanca New York. The group consists of Alex Haas (vocals, rhythm guitar), Bill Bratek (lead guitar) Tristan Reinard (bass, vocals), Carl Herman (keyboards, vocals), Ashley Paulus (vocals), Seth Bykowski (saxophone), Andy Bear (percussion), and Guy French (drums). The band was formed by childhood friends Rob Petitt and Alex Haas, the duo played their first gig as Kaleidoscope Sky in 2014 with djembe player Andy Bear. After seeing Tristan Reinard playing bass at a local corn roast and being impressed by his performance, the boys invited him to join. He joined not long after, adding another layer to K-Sky's sound. After jamming with a few short-lived drummers, a fellow musician recommended his drummer, Guy French to the band. Guy accepted the offer and after a successful first jam sesh, he was instated as the new drummer. Now a quartet, the boys landed a few successful gigs and began to grow in popularity. In the fall of 2016, Carl Herman watched a video Guy posted of the band performing and was impressed. He offered his services as keyboardist to Guy, who immediately contacted his bandmates. After a beautiful jam sesh one could describe as magical, Carl impressed the band with his musical prowess, and was soon asked to join full time. The band soon entered the studio to record their first record as a full band. The effort, entitled Into The Tide, was released in the spring of 2017. The band further enhanced their sound with the addition of Ashley Paulus on vocals and Seth Bykowski on sax, finally giving birth to the beautiful butterfly that is Kaleidocope Sky. Lead guitarist Rob Petitt parted ways with the band in the winter of 2018, and Bill Bratek took over lead guitar duties. Early member Andy Bear rejoined in the spring of 2018, rounding off the current lineup. The band is influenced by artists such as Funktional Flow, Sublime, Grateful Dead, The Elovaters, Sublime with Rome, Aqueous, and Lotus.
